Ambient and atmospheric, the music of West Riding (aka James M Gregg) is designed to be listened to late at night with headphones and a peaceful mood. Using the technique of "asynchronous improvisation," found sounds, unorthodox instruments and electronics with occasional distant trumpet, West Riding's works counteract our noisy world with quiet fragility and a sense of fleeting introspection.
